I think this book is an excellent purchase and is well written which gives the younger generation all the fundamentals that is required to lead a fulfilled and successful life. Rich in values. Even though, this is aimed at the younger generation to give them some perspective. I believe that there is no restriction in age of what you can learn, and it's never too late to install good honest values in all of us. I would recommend.

I love this book!
The beautiful illustrations throughout the book helps to capture the imagination of Makeda's journey. I would recommend this to all black children or those who aspire to be exceptional in life. I myself found this book informative and wish I had access to it when I was younger, as I know I would have made better choices.
Overall, my daughter loves it, and this is another great book to our collection.

Brilliant children’s book that even adults could take some notes from. The books message and inspiration is carried well throughout the book, with beautiful illustrations that accompany and help children to visualise the main characters journey.
Many pages to keep young minds thinking, and bonus colouring pages and activities at the end. Purchased for 6 and 7 year old, they rate the book 10/10, as they relate and aspire to be like Makeda!

This book is a must read! It is extremely well written, with simple text and a powerful message, perfect for children of all ages. While my son is a bit young to fully understand the words, he loves looking at the pictures and talking about the activities Makeda does each day. It's a brilliant tool for generating discussion and reminding our children of their potential, and the things they can do to help then fulfill it. I would definitely recommend for both boys and girls of all ages.

I bought this book for my 7-year-old daughter, I must say it is well written and very informative. My daughter loved reading this book, it has opened her mind to other subjects like finance, culture, home training and black history which normally are not covered in schools. The additional worksheets and activities at the end of the book, adds a nice touch to the book. This book is very inspiring, and we are looking forward to the future additions.

This is a brilliant piece of nugget, which will certainly stimulate the thoughts of the reader and energize them to be ready for any hurdle, knowing that they are capable of dealing with any and every task. For the black child who has very low confidence or self-esteem, this could revive a new spirit in them and give them that can do spirit and the will to achieve. I recommend this book highly. I enjoyed reading too

My daughter and I loved reading this book as it was very colourful and very informative. This book can help teach children many things such as how to save and how they can prepare for their future. The best part for me is the question time at the back of the book and the pictures you can colour in . I give this book a 10/10 and can’t wait for more.

I got the book for my 2 girls as it came highly recommended.
Now I have got 5 more as I believe its a must have and must read for all children regardless of sex and colour, but more importantly for children with a real desire to stand out and make a difference. Hand out for youngg ones I aam privileged to mentor. I am sure Makedas story will help them remain focused.
The book is beautifully put together, presented at a challenging level for readers aged 6-15( or older even) And even for parents... I learnt a thing or two.. Actually I learnt a whole lot..
Kudos to the author illustrator, just a typo in the beginning pages.. But weel done for publishing this and touching lives globally.

A brilliant book that inspired young and older girls alike.
The focus on and promotion of STEM subjects addresses the labour market shortage of females in these professions. It encourages girls not to fear these subjects.
It also encourages students to learn a language whilst simultaneously empowering those who are bilingual or multilingual.
Clearly written by someone who understands the world of work and what our girls need to prepare them for it.

I am extremely impressed with this book, it has exceeded all my expectations. Both my children 6 and 8 throughly enjoyed reading Makeeda. They love the activities too. Definitely worth every penny, I promise you will not regret it.

Love the fundamental learning blocks layed out in this book. Read a number of times already during the day, and before bedtime. An absolute staple to have in our home library collection. Bought this book for my 6-year-old son and he has learnt so much about life and how to be successful.
